CIF stands for Customer Identification File. CIF contains all details of a potential customer inclusive of address details, valid photo ID. All your accounts that you open up with your bank will be linked to same SBI CIF number only. This is because CIF is your customer number with your bank.

Every bank has its unique CIF number’s format. You can get you CIF number online as well as offline. SBI bank has this number having 11 digits in it.
How to find SBI CIF Offline?
Now the question is how can we find our CIF number offline?
There are three ways that you can follow in order to locate your CIF number offline-
In SBI Bank Passbook – on the first page of bank passbook you can see your CIF number printed along with your details.
- Visit Your Bank- You can also find your CIF number by going to your bank and tell them your account number .
- Ask Customer Care- You can also get your CIF number by dialing toll-free numbers of SBI – 1800 11 2211, 1800 425 3800 or 080-26599990 and provide your basic details to them and they will give your CIF number.
How to find SBI CIF Online?
On SBI netbanking you can easily find your CIF number in multiple ways.
Click “View Nomination and PAN Details” on the home screen. After clicking this you will be taken to account information screen and you can get your account number there.
The next method you can follow up is Just printing account statement between any two dates. and there you can get your CIF.MICR code and all other details.
How many CIF Number you can have?
Earlier there was no restriction on a number of different CIF login you can get with the same bank for different accounts but now as per the RBI guidelines, a single person cannot get more than one CIF number with the bank. If the person is having multiple accounts then that person should link all his multiple accounts with the same CIF.
